WetVR Review 2023 – An overlooked studio

Who’s Wet VR?

WetVR is a VR porn studio that’s sort of new to the industry. I see they joined Twitter in August 2019: so, I’ll guess the studio itself is about that same age. Well, two years have passed since I wrote that so WetVR isn’t that new anymore. That means we’re going to give them a fresh look here in 2023.

This much I’ll tell you right off the top. This is an underrated heterosexual VR porn studio. And, they’re not just underrated. It’s worse than that. There’s almost no chatter about them. Well, they deserve some chatter. So, let’s start chattering.

WetVR Self-description

Okay, two years have passed and their self-description hasn’t changed. This is it below:

“3D VR PORN in 5K. Works on All Devices.

Okay, so that’s an impressive resume of 2D porn work! And, it suggests that these good folks will do a good job with their “3D VR site.” We’ll see…

Business identity and brand problems

But, the MAJOR PROBLEM—at least for me—is that this self-description doesn’t tell me if there’s anything that differentiates them from everyone else. And, there definitely are a few defining characteristics that I would highlight. You don’t even get a sense of who they’re really competing against. I’ll tell you: their primary competition would be WankzVR. I want to know why I should give WetVR my money instead of  WankzVR or VR Bangers or Naughty America VR. I need WetVR to tell me why.

Another problem–videos are default listed by “top rated.” I don’t see how to switch to “most recent.” I know a lot of consumers don’t give a fuck about how others have rated anything. They want to see what’s newest.

And, it’s noted that the max resolution is 5K. I’m not saying it like that’s a bad thing. As is always emphasized, don’t get too damn caught up in the number before the K. There are a lot of factors culminating in a good optical experience. There’s 4K that’s fucking horny and 8K that doesn’t translate into a horny experience. 5K is plenty if the shooting, production, processing etc. is on point.

Number of scenes/Library size/Update frequency

I think there’s about 210 scenes. That’s an approximation.

Now, a lot can be said about fame in general…and, I think there’s a definite critique that can be made about the equity of porn fame in respect to geographical location…but, with that said, I was a bit damn surprised by the Wet VR roster…that is some top-tier porn fame they got there…

In respect to ethnicity: as is so often the case with VR porn, this is a pretty European/White American type of affair. There seem to be a few scenes that feature Hispanic or Asian talent; but, those are the outliers.

Image quality/clarity

Advertised as 3D porn in 5K. The optical quality is all-around competent. The general optics are on par with the top-tier of the VR porn industry. Camera positioning is a slightly different matter.

Camera Positioning Skill

The camera positioning is competent. The camera does get close. In some instances, the positioning is brilliantly smothering. Quite horny pussy close-ups in some of the scenes I watched. Particularly good was the 2023 Hime Marie outing. The Hime scene is actually rather fantastic.

In other scenes, I feel like I want the framing to be a bit tighter.

Sexual Positioning Hornyness, Creativity, Variety

Generally speaking, it’s not bad. And, in some cases it’s fucking brilliant. That makes WetVR to be like most of the top-tier studios in my opinion. I particularly like how they positioned the reverse cowgirl in Hime’s scene. They had her sort of squatting on her shins and bouncing as the stunt cock pulled her arms back. That was FUCKING HORNY! Let’s say I watched it more than once…and, it seems to be staying on my headset!

Story/Narrative/Emotion

So, WetVR has some interesting variety in these scenes. You get things like stepsis catching you jacking off; cheerleader tryouts; fucking the tutor; and some of the expected porn tropes. So, I’d think of this type of variety as narrative/creative variety.

What I like is that although there’s a context, the scenes I watched didn’t excessively get caught up in the narrative. I like that.

Intimate presence achieved/VR medium’s potential maximized?

Yes, WetVR does succeed in this regard. I always feel like more is possible. But, at the end of the day they’re delivering a professional and erotic product.

Price/value for your hard-earned buck?

So, bear this in mind: WetVR scenes are NOT available via VR porn or POVR aggregators. If you want Wet VR, you got to to straight to the Wet VR source and take a sub. So, there’s a 1 Day trial membership for a buck…and, the month sub price is a very reasonable $14.95.

You know, with an asking price that’s this low…honestly, I do get pretty liberal about recommending.

In other words, my standards become: 1. Is the general VR porn optical rendering good enough to have an enjoyable experience? 2. Do you like some of the stars? If you answer yes to both, then sure…I think taking a month of WetVR is a sound decision.

While I haven’t given it the full optical evaluation yet, I’ve seen enough to know that if I were horny for a particular gal, I would want to see her WetVR scene.
