March 7, 2021 – Hey everybody, welcome! This is a long article that I’m now going to divide into two pieces. I think you’ll find it both rewarding and surprisingly informative if you’re able to make it through this entire feature. I’m adding an updated preface.

You’re about to read an article/feature that’s honestly proved extraordinarily fucking popular over the years: The 2nd Annual 2016 VR Porn Movie Awards, presented by FindVRPorn.com in conjunction with Oculus NSFW voting.

When I did this awards ceremony the first time in 2015…I really didn’t know how fucking popular it was going to be…this site was only a few months old, and I was just looking to create the type of unusual stuff that might get us more traffic. Well, it worked…

So, the following year, I did it again: I posted a question on the same subreddit asking What was your favorite VR porn movie of 2016? Why?

This was before they had begun routinely banning the influential people in our little VR porn universe. Why did they do that? Well, they made-up reasons about spamming etc., but the real reason is probably the same ole story that makes the world go round.

Funny thing is that this particular subreddit never stopped being overrun by the same redundant, diarrhea-link-spam in the posts and especially the comments…to the present day! It’s all actually gotten much worse over the years. I’ll leave you to form your own $peculation$.

Okay, enough weird bullshit, man…

So, as I was saying, back then  it was an awesome spot when I ran this poll towards the end of 2016: generating some genuinely intriguing, legit and fun data which allows for this feature.

So, where do I recommend people get good, legitimate review info these days to sort through all the VR porn stuff out there?

Honestly, my best advice is to visit the studio sites and test out the free previews with your own eyeballs. That’s the cheapest way. The actual best way, though, ain’t free, but worth it, in my view: join the two VR porn Netflix sites findvrporn recommends: POVR and, of course, VRporn. In that way, you can test out the major VR porn studios and see what clicks with your inner-pervert. It’s a long story, and you can read my long-winded explanations of why…but, the summary is I recommend you just go ahead and join both of those sites.

So, let’s just run the original article directly below. I think I’m going to divide it into two parts so it loads a little better…there are a ton of pictures…I tell you what…I found this really interesting back in 2017, and I find it even more interesting now as we approach springtime of 2021.

VR Porn History

I tell you honestly…the whole VR porn world was…it sounds kind of strange to say…but the whole thing was really new and exciting during 2016. If I’m being completely and stupidly honest, it was kinda sort more fun. There weren’t that many major players: pretty much WVR, Naughty, VRP, BaDoink, Bangers, Czech…and, well…those were pretty much the main ones.

What’s interesting to note…and, this is certainly an opinion…but, at the time of these movie awards, I would have kinda expected VR porn writ large to be further along by now. In some ways, it doesn’t feel like things have really advanced a whole hell of a lot. I know the counter arguments that could be made, but…the fundamentals are basically the same. So, there’s two sides to this: the physical technology and the filming methods/content. We’ll discuss this at much greater length another time…really, though, tldr: I feel on the content/method side there’s so much room for innovation. In a few years, maybe it’s off to Los Angeles to start a company, but until then…

Anyway…

So, why am I saying it was more fun during these 2016 movie awards?

There are a lot of reasons for this, but I think the main one is that it was all newish and additionally this was the year when VR porn made the most progress: particularly in respect to filming techniques, but really…the whole sort of VR porn horny Gestalt, if you will. What does that mean?

Well, it’s sort of hard to explain…but, you could really see the whole thing progress before your eyes from week-to-week: and, it really was a collaborative process between several blogs, a handful of consumers on the forums, and a small, select group of VR porn studios…and, that’s the year that it came together as the product that’s still basically what you’re getting today.

Now, I feel there’s still space for this to progress further, but, as mentioned, that’s another story!

I’ll tell you this much…even though I expected adoption etc. to go a bit differently: VR porn ain’t never going away. Particularly given what’s happening on a societal/cultural level (very long story), it ain’t ever going away…we’ll first get better VR, then AR, then AR that will break your brain, then sex robots, then sex robots that are indistinguishable from people. The end. Until then…

We ran this award ceremony last year and a number of studios received accolades: with the Virtual Real Porn boys, in particular, kicking some serious virtual ass…

So, this year we did another poll that was open to any adult on the entire Internet who wanted to vote and express his or her opinion.

Friends, I must emphasize that this contest’s voting was once again open to any interested adult on the Internet… that’s the main reason our VR Porn Movies Awards generate such attention.

Plainly put: people know this shit’s legit.

You know, friends, in life you’ll get frustrated fellas who’ll aggressively spew as if they’re the final word on a topic: but don’t be fooled. There’s only one way to truly provide the Internet with an honest, well-rounded opinion that it can believe in…

And, that’s by incorporating many, many, many voices into that opinion. By allowing absolutely everyone to participate! Because, these are truly the people’s awards! Your votes decided this thing!

Ain’t nobody being left out of this either, friends! Anyone who got nominated and received a few votes will at least get mentioned in this article. Period. It’s that simple. A gala literary experience is about to unfold…again!
